Q. What are ‘Slideshows’?
When we create a presentation with a series of still images in some kind of pre-arranged sequence or using a certain type of animation to display the same, it is known as slideshows.
Slideshows can be created with any basic editing software or even with Microsoft’s PowerPoint office tool. But in order to make the still images come to life and to make them more appealing, you can use After Effects and our templates to create some amazing slideshow animations.

Q. What is ‘Track Matte’ in After Effects?
When you want one layer to show through holes defined by another layer, set up a track matte. The underlying layer (the fill layer) gets its transparency values from the values of certain channels in the track matte layer—either it's an alpha channel or the luminance of its pixels.
For example, you can use a text layer as a track matte for a video layer to allow the video to only show through the shapes defined by the text characters.
Q. What is ‘Gradient Ramp’ in After Effects?
We’ll be using Gradients in this After Effects tutorial so have a look at what it is: The Gradient Ramp effect creates a colour gradient. You can create linear or radial ramps, and vary the position and colours of the ramp over time. Use the Start Of Ramp and End Of Ramp properties to specify the start and end positions. Use the Ramp Scatter control to disperse the ramp colours and eliminate banding.
